Single. Pretty sure it's called a katana.

[Which is as far as his knowledge goes.]

A friend in high school really loved them and showed me pictures of the sword she wanted to get one day.

Not a type I am familiar with. [ He muses, drawing it carefully to examine ]

But similar enough to other single bladed weapons I know! The balance is exquisite - this has been very well made indeed!

A well-balanced blade makes a swordsman's job a lot easier, and is a sign that the craftsman who made it knows his business. Although I suppose if it has such other properties, it might be kizuna that makes it so!

You said you had no knowledge of blades, yes? We'd have to start from the beginning, if you wanted to learn. Fortunately, the basics are the same for every sort of blade, in truth.

I don't mind starting at the beginning. I'll do anything you say so I can learn the right way.

[He nods firmly to show how much he really, really means it. Then again he can't lie to being with but that's not the point.]

[He laughs softly and reaches up to fix his curls.] Are you sure you want me doing that? I'd be asking for every day if you'd let me pick the time.

[He's always been the eager student. Even for things that he has no skill in.]

So eager! Well, we can do every other day, perhaps! I don't wish for you to over-exert yourself!

[He pouts a little bit, clearly the eager thing is very true.]

Well if you think that's for the best...

We can increase it, once you're a bit more used to it. [ Maglor promises ]

[He does have three sword teachers so far. And will get two more soon.]

And if you get overly tired or things hurt, you are to say so, and not try and push through it.

Well, I can't lie. So there's that.

[Basically his teachers always have the advantage of being able to get honest answers out of him. Especially since he's never learned the Fae way of talking to twist the truth.]

No. That's not really in my nature. Well, it's in the Fae nature, I guess. But I was raised human.

[He gives a smile and a shrug.]

As I cannot name a single other who could claim that.

[That made the young man burst out laughing before giving the Elf a big smile.]

[ Maglor beams, pleased to see Riley's laugh ]

You can tell Elrond, if you like! He'll be so annoyed with me.

[He laughs again at that. It's really fun how they all mess with each other.]

Maybe I will! Just to see how he reacts.

Remind him, if so, of the fact that I recall every time he his injuries of his own!

It's funny because he seems so serious but he has no idea that you're here telling me all about how he's totally not. I love it.

[It makes him feel part of the family already.]

He's grown up very serious.

But I remember him as a scrappy, angry child! Alas, he will never not be able to escape the embarassing stories.

It's just going to make me smile any time he tries to be very serious or pretends to be scary to tease me.

Well, he's the kindest person I know, all the same.
