When we held the Siege in the early days of the war, not even Maedhros, with his need to control everything, tried to do it all himself, but indeed he delegated work to those he trusted! That way, we could cover more ground, and indeed, do more, for all worked where they might best use their skills, and had time enough for rest and joy. Without those... well. We might have held, I suppose. But it was certainly easier! It's simply a better division of time and skill.
